DOGRI CHICKEN MASALA

Dogri chicken

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken – ½ kg
  2. Ginger – 1”
  3. Garlic – 4 cloves
  4. Cumin seeds – 2 tb
  5. Coriander seeds – 2 tb
  6. Green cardamom – 4 no.
  7. Cinnamon – 1”
  8. Cloves – 4 no.
  9. Black peppercorn – 2 no.
  10. Onion – 1 no.
  11. Turmeric powder – ½ tb
  12. Red chilli powder – ½ tb
  13. Tomato – 2 no.
  14. Lemon juice – ½ tb
  15. Salt

Procedure:

Make a paste of ginger (1”), garlic (4 cloves), cumin seeds (2 tb), and coriander seeds (2 tb).

Heat oil in a kadai. Add oil (2 tb). Add green cardamom (4 no.), cinnamon (1”), cloves (4 no.) and crushed black peppercorn (2 no.).

Add onion (1 no.) and chicken pieces (1/2 kg). Add salt and cook for 5 minutes.

Now add the spice paste, turmeric powder (1/2 tb), red chilli powder (1/2 tb) and tomato paste (2 no.).

Cover and cook till the oil gets separated from the sides.

Add water (1/2 cup) and cook for 2 minutes. Add lemon juice (1/2 tb) and switch off the flame.
