CHICKEN PATIALA

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken – ½ kg
  2. Red chilli powder – 2 tb
  3. Hung yogurt – ¼ cup
  4. Ginger paste – 1 tb
  5. Garlic paste – 1 tb
  6. Coriander seeds – 1 tb
  7. Cumin seeds – 1 tb
  8. Cinnamon – 1”
  9. Cloves – 4 no.
  10. Green cardamom – 4 no.
  11. Black cardamom – 1 no.
  12. Dry red chilli – 2 no.
  13. Onion – 1 no.
  14. Turmeric powder – ½ tb
  15. Tomato – 2 no.
  16. Green chillies – 2 no.
  17. Salt

Procedure:

Marinate chicken (1/2 kg) with salt, red chilli powder (2 tb), hung yogurt (1/4 cup), ginger paste (1 tb), and garlic paste (1 tb).

Dry roast and grind – Coriander seeds (1 tb), cumin seeds (1 tb), cinnamon (1”), cloves (4 no.), green cardamom (4 no.), black cardamom (1 no.), black peppercorn (1 tb) and dry red chilli (2 no.).

Heat a pan. Add oil (2 tb). Add onion (1 no.) and fry for 2 minutes.

Add the marinated chicken and cook for 5 minutes. Add turmeric powder (1/2 tb) and salt.

Next add the tomato paste (2 no.) and cook for 5 minutes.

Now add the spice paste and cover and cook for 2 minutes. Add chopped green chillies (2 no.) and water (1/2 cup). Cover and cook for 2 more minutes.

Serve hot with rice or chapatti.
