Chicken Lauki Musallam

Lauki musallam

Ingredients:

  1. Lauki – ½ kg
  2. Turmeric powder – 1 + 1/2 tb
  3. Oil
  4. Ginger paster – 1 tb
  5. Garlic paste – 1 tb
  6. Onion paste – 2 tb
  7. Chilli powder – 1 tb
  8. Cumin powder – ½ tb
  9. Tomato – 2 no.
  10. Chicken – 100 gm
  11. Chopped onion – ½ no.
  12. Chopped garlic – 10 no.
  13. Green chillies – 2 no.

Procedure:

  1. Cut the Lauki into horizontally half.
  2. Punch lauki with fork.
  3. Take put the inner part of the lauki and boil the outer ring of the lauki with turmeric powder (1/2 tb) and salt for 10 minutes. Cool the Lauki.
  4. Fill the lauki with the chicken filling.
  5. Slice the lauki.
  6. Heat a kadai and add oil (2 tb).
  7. Add ginger paste (1 tb) and garlic paste (1 tb).
  8. Add onion paste (2 tb) and fry for 2 minutes.
  9. Add salt, turmeric powder (1/2 tb), chilli powder (1 tb), cumin powder (1/2 tb) and tomato (2).
  10. Cook till oil starts separating.
  11. Next add the sliced lauki stuffed with chicken and add water (1/2 cup). Cook for 5 mintes.
  12. Serve with Roti or Naan.

Note: Chicken filling – Heat kadai. Add oil (2 tb). Then add chopped onion (1/2), chopped garlic (10), chopped ginger (1”). Fry for 2 minutes and then add salt and turmeric powder (1/2 tb). Add the minced chicken (100 gm). Fry till the oil comes out and then add the green chillies (2). Cool the mixture.
