Chicken rezala

Ingredients:

  1. Onion – 2 no.
  2. Charmagoj – 2 tb
  3. Kaju – 4 tb
  4. Hung curd – 1 cup
  5. Chicken – ½ kg
  6. Ginger paste – 1 tb
  7. Garlic paste – 1 tb
  8. White pepper powder – 1 tb
  9. Ghee – 4 tb
  10. Dry red chilli – 4 no.
  11. Whole black pepper – 6 no.
  12. Tej patta – 1 no.
  13. Saffron mixed with milk/water

Procedure:

  1. Boil onion (2) and cool the onion. Make a thick paste of the onion.
  2. Make a paste of Charmagoj (2 tb) and kaju(4tb)
  3. Make a thick paste of hung curd (1 cup).
  4. Marinate the Chicken (1/2 kg) with Salt.
  5. Add Ginger paste(1 tb) and Garlic paste(1 tb) to the marinade.
  6. Add White pepper powder (1 tb).
  7. Add all the above paste in the marinate and add ghee (2 tb)
  8. Marinated the chicken for minimum 2 hours.
  9. Heat a kadai and put ghee (2 tb).
  10. Add the chicken with the marinade.
  11. Cover and cook for half an hour. Scrap the sides of the kadai from time to time else the chicken will get burn
  12. When the gravy thickens then the chicken is done.
  13. For tadka – In a small pan add Dry red chillies (4) and whole black pepper (6) with tej patta (1).
  14. Pour over the chicken and cover for some time.
  15. Before serving add the saffron (pinch) mixed water.
